The alien of the title is also known as the Xenomorph. Designed by H.R.Giger who also created the monster in the film series Species. It stands taller and is more stronger than a human. Its origins are unknown as to where it is found in the universe. The first time humanity comes into
contact with it is when the crew of the Nostromo answer a distress call from a deserted ship. It has appeared in cross over stories with the Predator. Whilst comics and games have them fighting it out in the Alien time line, the films have gone for the
Predator timeline, ie now.
