Legend / Myth
Andromeda was the daughter of Queen Cassiopeia and King Cepheus, rulers of the kingdom of Philistia. The kingdom is now more closely associated with Ethiopiea. The Queen was so jealous of her daughter's looks that she had her tied to a large rock. The Queen hoped the whale, Cetus, would kill her. She was saved by Perseus who then became his bride. The story is immortalised in the film 'Clash of the Titans'.
