| Rose, a shop assistant, is alone in the department store where she works. She's there because she's been told that a colleague wants to see her. Once inside, she is attacked by mannequins. The Doctor is able to save her and get her out before he returns inside to blow up the place. He believes the transmitter for mannequins ( Autons ) is at the top of the building. Rose returns home where the Doctor manages to track her down. They talk before he disappears again. Rose does some investigation and goes to visit a man who believes the Doctor is not from this world. He produces photographic evidence to back up his claim. As she talks to the man, her boyfriend in the car outside is attacked by dustbins and a duplicate is created of him. She does not suspect a thing until at dinner, the Doctor reappears at the restaurant to rescue her. The Doctor takes Rose to the London Wheel, where they must encounter the creature behind the Autons. The Doctor tries to reasons with the Nestene Consciousness but the Nestene doesn't want to listen. The Autons are activated to attack London. Rose comes to the rescue whilst the Doctor is held captive by an Auton. The Doctor releases anti-plastic into the Nestene which deactivates all the Autons. The Doctor gives her an option of travelling with him or staying in a boring life on Earth. She opts for the former. |

| | alex | | | a superb new start into the 21st century. the doctor is back and ce is my favorite one. the series is having style. i've seen some of the older eps and the dr-who-feeling was right there. hope they will keep the niveau. in my opinion much better than most up-to-date us-series. |
