The Menagerie Part 1
| First of a two-parter. The Enterprise visits Starbase 6 as it summoned by Captain Pike. Commodore Mendez shows Kirk, Pike and explains he couldn't have summoned Kirk. Spock had been sending false messages and when he is about to be found out, Spock takes Pike and the Enterprise. Mendez and Kirk follow in a small shuttle. When the shuttle runs out of fuel, Spock relunctantly allows Kirk aboard and immediately surrenders. Spock is put on court martial proceedings before Kirk and Mendez. Using evidence in the form of television, Spock shows what happened on Talos IV when Pike was captain of the Enterprise. The ship is on a voyager to Talos IV which the penalty for such a journey is death. |
