90's Television series exploring the concept of the Multiverse. The group of four travellers visit a new world every week in the hope of finding the right portal back home. In one world, the dinosaurs haven't died out, another the Russians have invaded and in another, the British won the American War of Independence.
It all begins when Quinn tests a device he has built in his basement. When he travels through the device, he thinks he's failed. He treats everything as usual, turns up at university as usual. Along the way, he drives through a green light which unknown to him is a stop light in this world. During the pilot he discovers that he's been dismissed from University and his place of work. He returns home and finds another Quinn who explains everything to him. Wade and Arturo are invited to his home to see what he's been working on. The three travellers jump through the wormhole and into another world. Outside is Rembrant, a singer who gets caught up in the experiment as he drives by. They have a device that tells them how long they have and where the next portal jump is going to be. They've got to survive long enough to get to the next jump.
Along the way, they have to deal with the Kromaggs, an alien race who look like bald humans but with some slight changes. The Kromaggs want to retake their home planet from Humans who have taken control of it. The only way they can do this is to control the other parallel human worlds.
Based on information from Sliders.net, Wade Welles character was kidnapped at the end of series 3 but made it back to Earth. Arturo was killed by Colonel Rickman after the Professor confronted the Colonel about scientific experiments that were being carried out in one episode in series 3. Quinn was joined by his brother both fictionally and in real life in series 4. Both characters got melded into one called simply Mallory in a mishap.
