| Tripods
| The film is set in the near future when the Tripods have taken over the planet. They have amanaged to return the entire planet back time, back to the 17th Century and made everyone their slaves. You are converted into a slave on your sixteenth birthday, a plaque is but on your forehead to say you have been done. It was written as three books however only two of these were made into television series by the B.B.C. The first series is about Will Parker and his friend as they near conversion but decide to run for it. Their destination is the White Mountains where people are no longer slaves. The second series is where we see the heroes infiltrate the alien city and we see how technologically advanced it is. The aliens are like their machines, three legged monsters. In H.G. Wells story, the aliens use similar tripedial machines to roam the country side. The difference is that the H.G.Wells had the aliens killing as many people as possible where as Tripods had them enslaving everyone.

| | siinaria | | | a very well shot series so far ahead in its filming freshness the tripods are remarkably filmed and up to date looking with lots of curvy angles and lights the city is fantastic and ken freemans synclavier music is fantalabulous lots of sound sampling going on!! great stuff. a good story well written but not put across inm the most dynamic way, or not finished properly either but all said and done the effects still stand up today, mostly!. |
