Star Trek - Voyager

The fourth incarnation in the Star Trek series. An alien being is dying and needs someone to look after the Ocampa home planet that he damaged when he first visited it. He pulls beings from different parts of the universe there to test their suitability. The first to disappear from the Alpha Quadrant is a Maquis space ship. Janeway's ship Voyager is tasked to find out what happened to the ship. Her ship disappears as well. The Maquis and the Federation join forces to escape from the Aliens clutches. Before the alien can find someone to take his place, he dies. Captain Janeway orders the destruction of the aliens' space station to prevent it from falling into the hands of the Kazon, an alien race. Now with the Maquis alongside in the ship, she and the crew begin the perilous journey home. Between the Ocampa planet and Earth is the home world of the Borg. However, it is disappointing because they don't deal enough with the Borg, they don't explain the origins of the aliens. If I have missed an episode telling this then please email me and let me know the origins and when they are explained. Neelix and Kes are two aliens that get picked up at the start of the voyage home. When Kes leaves the series, the explanation given in character is that she's too powerful to stay with them and is too dangerous. As a leaving present, she transports them away from Borg space. In her place, they take on 'Seven of Nine', a human female who was once a member of the Borg. The Doctor has removed most of her Borg nanoprobes apart from a couple which if removed would result in her death. The Borg turn up at different stages of the series including the final episode where they finally get home. There's even a nod to other science fiction with the Hirogen who could be said to be modelled on the 'Predator' with their face masks and need to hunt their prey.
