Guide to Space, Planets and the rest of the Universe

Universe Guide contains information relating to space and the universe both factual ( e.g. Aliens, Constellations, Debris, Eclipses, Fantasy, End of the World, Living in Space, Ophiuchus, Pioneers, Planets ) and fictional ( e.g. Andromeda, Babylon Five, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers, Doctor Who, Farscape, Red Dwarf, Space 1999, Space Above and Beyond, Starship Troopers, Star Trek, Star Wars and V ). Fantasy is limited to adventures on far off planets ( e.g. Azeroth, Krull ) or alternate Earths ( Merlin, Sliders). Whilst Harry Potter could be considered an alternate universe, I have decided to omit it here. The purpose of this site in the factual section is to give people a brief insight into what's there. Pictures that have been used in this website have sourced from various sites, they've all been from free sites ( e.g. NASA.GOV ) including the picture above. Copyrighted pictures are respectively acknowledged.

Information has been gained from reliable sources, if you believe the information is incorrect then please let me know by sending an email to ug at UniverseGuide dot com. If you're going to be using this information in course work for school or University, it is recommended that you find another site to source from as well, a place that is internationally recognised such as N.A.S.A. or E.S.A. . If I've accidentally breached copyright in some way then please contact me using the email address John at Universeguide dot com, stating where. To continue, please click on the title above.

I’ve added in the top right corner of some pages the flags of countries which I have translated this site into. The countries chosen so far have the largest number of visitors to my site. Other languages may follow, Klingon even. Comments won't be translated and only comments in English will be validated.

During Thursday night, worried people began calling police in Scotland after seeing fireballs streaking through the sky. Some felt it could be a missle attack or a plane crashing to the ground.

The cause of which has not yet been identified but astronomers are keeping an open mind on the situation. Most believe it to be space junk that finally fell to Earth. It could also be from an asteroid that got to close to the Earth.

Neil Armstrong has died August 26, 2012, 10:09 am
The first man on the Moon died yesterday (25th August 2012) caused by complications that were caused by him having a heart operation on the 7th August.

Along with Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, Neil journeyed to the moon on July 16, 1969, landing on the moon four days later. It would be the first of many trips to the moon but his only trip. He retired from N.A.S.A. soon after, instead of using his accomplishment to interest people in space, he lived a secluded life back in his birth state of Ohio, teaching at the University of Cincinnati rather than the University of Purdue where he had studied himself.
