| Earth in possible collision course with object | June 10, 2009, 9:21 pm | | Just when you thought that it was only metoers/asteroids/comets to worry about, along comes a report that Earth could collide with a different object all together. The object in question is Mars but it won't happen for millions or billions of years so you're safe. The prediction came from Professor Laskar of the Observatory of Paris, France. Other collisions are also possible, Venus and Mercury smashing into one another. Mars and Jupiter are another which would have an even bigger impact. Mars would go flying off into space rather than smashing into pieces. More info could be read at the BBC which includes a video clip to watch. | | | |
| Blue Mars | March 2, 2009, 9:03 pm | | According to those boffins at Brown University in Rhode Island, Mars had water flowing over the planet. It was also recent, a mere 1.25 million years ago. When you consider the universe has been around for 13.5 billion years, its not that long ago. That begs the question, did Mars have life on the planet but something went horribly wrong? The water somehow retreated back to the polar regions which we see as large white areas. For more information on what the scientists say, read it in the Geology journal. | British UFO Files released | October 20, 2008, 8:47 pm | | The British Government has made nineteen documents available online about UFO sightings. The most publicised one is the story of the Alitalia pilot who reported a near miss with a cigar shaped UFO over Kent in 1991. No explanation could be found as to what the object was. Another story is about a U.S.A.F. pilot ordered to shoot down one of those objects. The UFO managed to escape which is lucky it did. Also covered is a story from a woman who claims to be from the Sirian Solar System who landed during the Second World War. Investigator took notes then ignored her story. To read more about the sighting reports, visit The National Archives. The truth may very well be contained in those documents. | | | |
| Aliens exist, the Vatican announce | May 14, 2008, 8:48 pm | | Contrary to what some people think, the Vatican have said that they do believe that life exists out there including Mars. Although they don't believe in Martians, they are talking about viral lifeforms. This was announced in the Vatican newspaper in article written by Father Funes, who is the director of the Vatican Observatory near Rome. To show their scientific credentials, they are hoping to host a conference marking the birth of Charles Darwin, the main enemy of creationism.

| The British are coming.... or going where no Briton has gone before... | February 15, 2008, 12:10 am | | For many years, the British Government had refused to finance its nationals into space. Helen Sharman, the first Briton in space got there through a commercially sponsored competition. The other three Michael Foale, Piers Sellars and Nicholas Patrick all had to give up British Citizenship to go into space. Now there is talk or spin as some might say that the British Government may now change its mind on the subject. Ian Pearson, the Science and Innovation Minister hinted yesterday that it would change. We could see someone in space by 2020 or earlier or be part of the team that makes the maiden journey to Mars. A new British space centre would be built in Harwell, Oxfordshire to help with space innovation. Space is the next big thing for people to go. Richard Branson is soon to be the owner of the first company to offer space trips. Other companies will follow and holidaying on the moon will be as commonplace as holidaying in Spain. There are people who are aggrieved at us spending large sums but there will also be opposition to anything... | | |
