'Warlords of Draenor' is next Warcraft ExpansionNovember 9th, 2013, 10:22 am

To coincide with the Blizzcon conference, Blizzard Entertainment has released details of the next expansion to be called World of Warcraft - Warlords of Draenor. The adventure is set in the past when the asteroid `Outlands` was a whole planet. Outlands is where adventurers go when they are about 58 -> 68. Unlike the old Outlands, the new continent will allow you to level up to 100 rather just up another 5 levels which they had been doing in the previous two expansions. People who buy the expansion will get a level 90 straightaway so that they can experience the new expansion without having to level up from level 1 for any new additional characters. There will be seven new zones including updated Shadowmoon Valley and Nagrand

The story is that Garrosh Hellscream, the end boss in `Mists of Pandaria` has escaped trial and travelled back in time to change the course of history. Both the Horde and the Alliance will travel back to stop him. Garrosh went back to Draenor because it is the ancestral home of the Orcs before they came through the Dark Portal to attack Azeroth.

There are no new races or classes as there had been in previous expansions, just new features. For example, new features include Garrisons which can be customised according to your own personal requirements. In the Garrison, you will be able to see awards for your achievements, e.g. a head on a stick or statue for your kill as an example. There will be six new dungeons and an update of Upper Black Rock Spire, the classic dungeon. 10/25 man raids will now be merged into one raid type and all will be flex 20 called Mythic. More information on the expansion can be found on the WowHead site.

Races such as Dwarves, Orcs and Gnomes have been updated, for example, Dwarven males are more hairy than before. At the time of the press release, only the three races below have been released.

The Twelfth Doctor is....August 4th, 2013, 20:45 pm

After days of speculation which has put a diverse range of actors from Ben Daniels through David Harewood to Daniel Rigby in the frame, the wait is over. The new Doctor Who is... Peter Capaldi who happened to be the bookies favourite with odds closing at 5/6. Like Amy Pond and the Sixth Doctor, the actor has appeared in a previous episode. He played Caecilius in the episode `The Fires of Pompeii` which also starred Karen Gillan who went onto be the Tenth Doctor`s (Matt Smith) companion for the majority of his time in the role. Capaldi is over twenty years older than the current one which will please some of the fans who longed for a return to the older man style Doctor. It might alienate some of viewers who wished to keep the Doctor a youthful character. Only time will tell, Capaldi will take on the role at the end of the Christmas episode. It is unlikely to see him in the anniversary special but you never know.
