Timothy Peake, 37, a British army helicopter pilot has been selected by ESA to be one of their future astronauts. ESA also choose five other people to be their astronauts. The surprise is that the Briton was chosen because the British Government has refused to finance human space travel, prefering to send robots and satiellites into space. Sending non-humans is safer and cheaper and believe the amount of information that can be gained from non-humans is more than what humans could obtain. Lets hope they now change their mind.
