Earth in possible collision course with object

Just when you thought that it was only meteors/ asteroids/ comets to worry about, along comes a report that Earth could collide with a different object all together. The object in question is Mars but it won't happen for millions or billions of years so you're safe.

The prediction came from Professor Laskar of the Observatory of Paris, France. Other collisions are also possible, Venus and Mercury smashing into one another. Mars and Jupiter are another which would have an even bigger impact. Mars would go flying off into space rather than smashing into pieces. More info could be read at the BBC which includes a video clip to watch.
