The World of Warcraft - Warlords of Draenor alpha testing has finally gone live. Those lucky few from Europe who got the invite have to connect and create characters on the Lost Isle realm which is hosted in the United States. This is a bit unfortunate because of possible lags. Why couldn't they have created an European server to share the load for Warlords of Draenor testing. That's the biggest gripe from me.
After much struggling to get in, I finally arrive in Stormwind as a druid which is after all my main on the live servers. You receive a lot of achievements and mounts you never had before including some of the rarest mounts in the game. There's no quest to tell you where to go to get to Draenor like there was in Mists of Pandaria so you had to read the trade chat and laugh at where people were telling you to go. In the end, I found the portal to Draenor, it's located where all the other portals are, in the middle of an island in the lake.
You arrived on the northern edge of Shadowmoon Valley where you are welcomed by Prophet Valen who sets you on your way. You have a load of people all fighting for the quest targets and you have to be dam quick to kill a bird which the quest asks you to do. With lag, it makes the task a heck of a lot harder. I just threw stars into the air and hoped a bird would spawn and I hit it first. On the whole, it worked and got the quests done.
The game kept kicking us out of Warlords of Draenor and we'd return back to the start or back to Stormwind. Once back in Stormwind, we make our way back to the Warlords of Draenor portal and start again. It can be quite frustrating. Kicking out isn't a problem, it can be expected when testing for a new expansion such as Warlords of Draenor but progress is slow.
