Aaron Kelly - Battlestar Galactica

Aaron Kelly from Battlestar Galactica played by Ty Olsson.

Aaron Kelly is a fictional male in the Battlestar Galactica television series who was played on screen by Ty Olsson. Captain Aaron Kelly is a senior member of the Battlestar Galactica crew, he is the Landing Signal Officer, responsible for bringing the Colonial Vipers safely back on board the Battlestar Galactica. He is the third in command after Commander William Adama and Colonel Saul Tigh. He is a new character and there is no direct connection between him in the re-imagined series and the original series.

Although senior, he is a minor character in the series. He takes on Saul Tigh's duties when Adama is shot by Lieutenant Sharon Valerii. Saul Tigh takes on the duties of the commander.

When Doctor Gaius Baltar is put on trial, it is Aaron Kelly who assassinates Doctor Gaius's Baltar first defender leading to Romo Lampkin taking on the role. Aaron Kelly is prevented from carrying out any more assassinations by chance and is arrested.

Galactica Mutiny

Commander Adama made a deal with a group of Cylons to upgrade the Galactica. In addition to the upgrade, both the Galactica and the Cylons would work together to find a home for both groups. Working with the Cylons caused resentment amongst the crew leading to a mutiny.

During the mutiny, he would side with Tom Zarek and Lieutenant Felix Gaeta on the mutiny. Aaron Kelly would swap sides once more later after disquiet about Tom Zarek assassinating the Quorum of the Twelve who refused to give legitimacy to Tom Zarek being the new President. Aaron Kelly assists Capt. Lee Adama and colleagues in preventing the execution of Commander William Adama.
