Admiral Amilyn Holdo - Star Wars

Holdo from Star Wars played by Laura Dern.

Holdo is a fictional female in the Star Wars film series who was played on screen by Laura Dern. Holdo holds the rank of Admiral.

Admiral Amilyn Holdo is introduced in the second film of the sequel trilogy. When Princess Leia is unconscious after the attack by The First Order, command of the fleet lies with Admiral Amilyn Holdo. Amilyn is a human female with pinkish hair colour. Not much is revealed about Amilyn in the film.

Poe Dameron comes in conflict with Amilyns and her plans. When Poe suggests something, she just looks down on him like a piece of dirt as at that time he had been demoted back down to Captain. When Poe decides to send Rose Tico and Finn to Canto Bight, he does so without letting Admiral know because he expects her to veto the decision.

With Princess Leia unconscious, Amilyn decides it is time to leave the safety of the battle cruiser and use escape pods to get to Crait, the mineral planet. On hearing the plan, Poe Dameron leads a rebellion against the plan but its not Amilyn who confronts Poe but Leia who has woken up.

When everyone has escaped, Amilyn turns the cruiser around and launches a suicide mission against Superme Leader Snoke's large Star Destroyer. The aim of objective is to give the resistance enough time to get to Crait. Onboard the star destroyer at the time is Finn, Rose Tico and Rey who all eventually manage to get off before the destroyer is destroyed.

Amilyn won't be back unless she managed to escape from the craft at the very last moment which is unlikely to have happened.

Laura Dern the actress behind the character first came to widespread attention as Doctor Ellie Satler, an archaeologist who travels to the dinosaur Island in the first Jurassic Park.
