Darth Maul - Star Wars

Darth Maul from Star Wars played by Ray Park.

Darth Maul is a fictional male Zabrak in the Star Wars film series who was played on screen by Ray Park. Darth Maul is a Sith Lord who is sent by his master, Darth Sidious to prevent Padme Amidala from pressing her case against The Trade Federation at the Galactic Senate. Darth is unique amongst Sith Lords in the films in that he wields a two handed lightsaber.

After Padme Amidala escaped from Naboo, she is forced to land on Tatooine to repair her ship. On the planet, Darth Maul catches up with the Padme and her Jedi Knight guards but the Qui-gon is able to fend off Darth Maul so that Padme Amidala's group can escape.

When Padme Amidala returns to Naboo, Darth Maul is waiting for the entourage for a final showdown. Maul manages to separate the two Jedi Knights Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi and fight them individually. Before Obi-Wan is able to confront Darth Maul, Qui-gon is killed by Darth Maul. Obi-Wan is able to exact revenge on Darth Maul by slicing Maul into two thereby apparently killing him.

During the Clone Wars, Darth Maul returns from the dead with a pair of mechanic legs. He first appears in Brothers episode where Darth Maul's brother Savage Opress finds him in Lothor Minor planet and gradually helps to regain himself.

Solo

It is revealed in the Han Solo spin off movie that Darth Maul has managed to over time create Crimson Dawn, a powerful crime syndicate. The role is played by the same actor who had played the role in Star Wars I - The Phantom Menace.

Darth Maul only appears via a holographic video shot where he tells his new subordinate, Qi'ra to come and visit him on Dathomir. Expect to see more of Darth Maul when they produce the second in the Han Solo series of films.

Dathomir has not yet featured in any of the live action films but it has appeared in the Clone Wars cartoon series. The planet is a horrible planet, its atmosphere is blood red with twisted vegetation. The planet orbits a red star which gives the planet its colour. Dathomir is not the home world of the Zabrak, their home world is Iridonia which also has not featured in the Star Wars films yet.
