Drax the Destroyer is a fictional male in the The Avengers comic series who was played on screen by Dave Bautista. Drax the Destroyer is a loyal member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Drax was once a human who was kidnapped and eventually killed by Thanos. Drax was brought back to life by the god Kronos who wants Drax to kill Thanos.
Drax is not a standalone character like the Hulk for instance, he fights as a team known as the Guardians of the Galaxy.
He is very impulsive and is eager to kill Ronan who killed a loved one. When Drax gets the chance, he calls Ronan to come and fight but ultimately Drax is not ready and Drax has to retreat.
When James Gunn, the director of the first two Guardians films was sacked over offensive tweets, David Batistua decided to call time on his character as he felt he couldn't work with anyone else. Whether the character will be written out or a new actor brought in to play the character is open to debate.
