Star Trek III, the Search for Spock is a science fiction film not set within the Solar System which was released in 1984 and is directed by Leonard Nimoy.
At the end of the previous film (Star Trek II, the Wrath of Khan), Spock carried out a mind melt with Doctor Leonard Bones McCoy before he stepped into the radiation chamber and dies. When McCoy begins to act strangely, Kirk feels he has only choice. He steals the Enterprise with the aid of the crew and returns to the Genesis planet. However before they can retrieve the body of Spock who is being regenerated along with the planet, they have to deal with the Klingons led by Kruge. Once the body has been recovered, they journey to Vulcan where the two minds that are stored inside McCoy are separated. During the battle, they are forced to leave the Enterprise and escape in Kruge's Klingon Bird of Prey.
