The Spy Who Loved Me

Synopsis

The Spy Who Loved Me is a Spy film with a space connection which was released in 1977 and is directed by Lewis Gilbert. The film's theme tune is 'Nobody Does It Better' and was sung by Carly Simon.

James Bond is enjoying rest when it is interrupted by Russian agents who want to kill him. He manages to kill them and escape by parachuting off a cliff with a Union Jack Parachute.

Someone is stealing both British and Russian submarines, James has been assigned by M to the case and work with Major Anya Amasova from Russia. Anya promises that when the mission is over, she will kill Bond is revenge for what he did to her fiancee at the beginning of the film.

The investigations lead to Karl Stromberg, a wealthy industrialist who had a water vehicle as a home. The film is also famous for the Lotus car which is able to go underwater. Along the way, they come up against Jaws in Egypt.

The submarines are being held in a massive tanker which Bond manages to get inside whilst onboard a British Submarine. Anya is taken to Strombergs floating home which Bond then visits to rescue the Russian spy.
