Tarantula Nebula (NGC2070) Facts Globular Cluster in Dorado

Tarantula Nebula (NGC2070) is a globular cluster object of interest in space. It lies at a distance of about 160.00 light years away in the constellation of Dorado.

It is also referred to as NGC(2070) in the New General Catalogue. This is a list of deep space objects that was compiled by John Louis Emil Dreyer in 1888 in an update to John Herschel earlier catalogue. Tarantula Nebula (NGC2070) was discovered in 1751 by Nicolas Louis de Lacaille.

The Globular Cluster's location is 05h 38m 38s (R.A.) and -69:05.7 (Dec.).
