Blackrock Caverns is a dungeon whose entrance is located in Searing Gorge on the continent of Eastern Kingdoms in the World of Warcraft game. The level range for the normal dungeon is 77-80. The instance was released in the Cataclysm expansion. The dungeon contains 5 bosses. The end boss of Blackrock Caverns is Ascendant Lord Obsidius.
Blackrock Cavern was introduced in Cataclysm and is one of the first dungeons that you will encounter as you level up from 80. The dungeons entrance and location is inside the Blackrock Mountain, the large mountain that contains a number of other instances such as Upper Blackrock Spire and Lower Blackrock Spire. When the dungeon was first released, it was a requirement that the player had to locate the entrance before they could queue for Looking For Group. It was soon established that this was a bad idea and cancelled.
If you're in Mount Hyjal, there is a goblin who will provide you with a port to the dungeon if you need to get there however there is no point, just use the Looking For Group finder.
He walks round the fight area so if you're not high enough to one shot him, i suggest you keep out of his way. If you are high and don't attack him, he'll just walk past, you need to hit him to start the encounter. The main thing is that during the fight, he'll have you chained up and you need to break the chains to escape. This can occur a couple of times depending on how hard you hit him. If you don't escape in enough time, he'll kill you. Once Rom'ogg is dead, the creature in the middle of the room escapes and clears some trash for you.
Be sure to kill all the trash near the boss otherwise it will turn nasty for you. During the fight, people need to take turns to break the streams otherwise the adds or a player will turn into a monster. She uses her staff to hit players.
At Christmas as you probably have worked out from the picture, she'll wear a Christmas hat which can drop as loot once you have killed her. Nearly all the female bosses will have the hat and drop it, some male bosses also have the hat but you are more likely to get it from the female bosses.
When you get into the room with Karsh Steelbender, be sure to kill the two flames first. The tank needs to be careful to lure them away so they can be killed separately. The flames will ignite and bring to life the ooze monsters on the ground so if the flames aren't killed, they will present a clear and present danger to the players.
Karsh is immune to attacks until he is brough through the lava in the centre. Once Karsh is bought through, his shields will be down for attack but he will also spread flames out causing A.O.E. damage. His armor will repair so the tank will need to kite him through again. Becareful that you don't go into the corners as there are Troggs there.
Beauty has three child, Lucky, Spot and one you can't see in the picture, Runty. When the fight begins, only Lucky and Spot will take part, Runty being extremely lazy sits it out. As it is a lava creature, it'll come as no surprise, that the main spell for these creatures is flames so make sure your moving and kiting. Once the fight is over, only Runty stays, the others disappear.
This boss is an optional boss and you don't need to kill him to complete the dungen. If you want loot, then go ahead and kill take him on.
It might look a lot of adds that the boss has but Raz, the Crazed, the massive monster that you freed at the start and who helped you throughout the dungeon will arrive and kill a few of them off. For his efforts though, Obsidius will Raz and play no more in the dungeon.
The boss will have three smaller versions of himself to play with. You need to separate the boss from the adds and kite the boss round. You need to kill adds. During the fight, a player will swap places with an add and you need to pick up the replaced add to make things easier.
