Dragon Soul Raid

Dragon Soul is a raid in the World of Warcraft game. The minimum level for this dungeon is 85. The instance was released in the Cataclysm expansion. The raid contains 8 bosses. The end boss of Dragon Soul is Madness of Deathwing.

Dragon Soul is the final raid encounter for World of Warcraft - Cataclysm. The scenary of the raid will look familiar as the fighting takes place near Wyrmrest Tower in Dragonblight, Northrend, In the raid, you need to make your way to the top of the Tower and then get onboard a air ship or flying boat to do battle with Northrend before he can destroy Azeroth.

The Dragon Soul entrance is in the Caverns of Time area in Tanaris rather than being in the "Real World". The two dungeon instances beside the raid are dungeons that came out at the same time as the raid, taster dungeons so to speak.

Dragon Soul gives Rogues the opportunity to do a quest line for their legendary weapon, two daggers as staff carriers such as Druids and Mages did in Firelands. One of the quests is to give some Ethereals 10,000 gold pieces to decrypt a message. Expensive stuff at the time but shouldn`t be too expensive now.

Dragon Soul Raid Bosses


Morchok Tactics


Morchok is a giant rock monster who will hit out with rocks on the ground. The players need to hide behind the rocks for protection otherwise the players health will be hit. In heroic, the character will split into two and both sides need to be taken down. The next two bosses can be taken down in any order.

Warlord Zon`ozz Tactics


Warlord Zon`ozz is a faceless creature and looks like General Vezax from Ulduar. This boss can be solo-tanked providing you have the healers for the raid. The tank needs to face the boss away from the raid so that only the tank gets hit. Zon`ozz will occassionally fire a purple ball at the players which the players need to be stacked to share the damage. The ball will travel back to the boss which at the start should not be targeted by the ball, the melee group should return the ball back to the ranged group. Eventually the ball will need to hit the boss. In phase two, everything will go dark and adds will spawn, they can be killed or ignored but eventually it will return back to phase 1 again.

Yor`sahj the Unsleeping Tactics


Yor`sahj the Unsleeping is similar to the previous (above) boss, the scenary might looks the same but the boss is slightly different. The boss will need to be tanked in the centre of the room. Every so often, blood will make their way to the boss and they have to be killed before they can reach the boss.

Hagara the Stormbinder Tactics


Hagara the Stormbinder is an female Orc who has to be pickpocketed by Rogues if they are on their legendary questline. The objective of this boss is to in addition to killing the boss is to knock out the power generators which get spawned. Everyone must be on the move on this boss encounter otherwise they will get hit by a wall going round the room. The room is similar in looks to Eye of Eternity.

Ultraxion Tactics


Ultraxion is a purple drake that you fight at the top of the tower. You need to all stack on front of the boss. There is a button that appears on screen which you need to press before he does his debuff.

Warmaster Blackhorn Tactics


After defeating Ultraxion, you are taken oboard the Alliance airship that will come under attack from drakes which need to be killed before the boss arrives. Warmaster Blackhorn is a Tauren who has sided with Deathwing. Every so often, he will stamp on the ground and you will need to avoid taking damage. A goblin add will spawn and he must be killed before the goblin can set a bomb and damage the ship that you are currently on.

Spine of Deathwing Tactics


The final two bosses are against Deathwing, the destroyer, the first part Spine of Deathwing is where you land on the back of Deathwing and need to damage him by destroying armour plates. The armour plates can`t just be attacked, they must be hit by an explosion. A tendon will appear and you will need to destroy one but not all. When the tendon is destroyed, a Hideous Amalgation is spawned. The tank need to kite the boss out the way. The dps need to attack the corrupted bloods and the tank then needs to pull the Hideous Amalgation round, picking up the remains of the corrupted bloods. When the Hideous gets to 10, he will explode so the tank then needs to take the hideous to the front of the fight area and wait fo the explosion. When the Hideous deals damage, the armour plating comes off and exposes a tendon. The dps must destroy the tendon before it gets repaired and they will then have to do the same thing over again. Once the tendon has been destroyed and flies off, the group will need to repeat for another two times before Deathwing falls to the ground. It should be noted that you need to keep an eye on where the group stands, if the group stands too much on one side, they can cause Deathwing to tilt to one side and cause a wipe, its best to fight in the middle unless there is a warning to run.

Madness of Deathwing Tactics


Madness of Deathwing is the final boss encounter of the raid where you will again face Deathwing. This time, you are on platforms where Deathwing will spawn, you can choose where he will spawn first but after that there is a sequence. For the first few fights, you will be hitting Deathwings feet. A mutated corruption will appear and that will have to be destroyed before you can finish off the foot. Sometimes a meteorite will hit the area and you will need to move out the way to avoid being hit by the damage. When the heat falls, even if you are able to kill the boss, the adds must be killed as they can cause the boss to wipe.
