The Black Morass - Opening the Dark Portal is a dungeon whose entrance is located in Tanaris on the continent of Kalimdor in the World of Warcraft game. The level range for the normal dungeon is 68-75. The only achievements you can get in this dungeon are the ones for completing. There are no achievements awards for individual boss encounters for making him to do something. The instance was released in the Burning Crusade expansion. The dungeon contains 3 bosses. The end boss of The Black Morass - Opening the Dark Portal is Aeonus.
The Black Morass is also known as 'Opening the Dark Portal', it is a dungeon that is set within the Caverns of Time in Tanaris. The dungeon group is sent back in time to the Swamp of Sorrows when Medivh was opening the Dark Portal on Azeroth. The Infinite Dragonflight is attempting to travel back in history and alter the timeline which is where you come in, you need to prevent them from preventing Medivh from opening the portal.
If Medivh doesn't open the portal, history will be changed forever and untold damage will be done to the fabric of time. The dungeon is simple, you need to stop eighteen waves of attack, on every sixth wave, a boss will spawn. Whilst some trash looks deceptively low, the actual dungeon elites aren't so easy, you can avoid the non-elite creatures. There are three bosses in total with Aoenus, a large dragon being the main boss. In this dungeon, you are able to gain rep with the Keepers of Time and can be either faction.
Once all the bosses are complete, the Portal will open and the Orcs will come through. It used to be a required dungeon for the Karazhan raid attunement quests but that is no longer the case.
Deja will stay on his perch and not move unless pulled. Whilst he is fighting, his minions will leave the portal and head towards Medivh. Killing the boss in the quickest time possible is essential.
If you pull Deja too far from his possible, he'll reset and you'll need to start again. To hit the minions, use a hunter or a mage to pull them back. The adds will still be around once the boss is dead, they are independent. There are a number of moves that the boss does but you shouldn't need to worry about them as they are an hinderance more than difficult.
Temporus is a dragon that stays beside the portal that he arrives in. The boss is easy enough to kill. During the fight, monsters will come through the portal and head towards Medivh. It is worth a ranged such as a mage or a hunter if you have one to take out the adds in case you can't get the boss down quick enough.
If you run after the adds and pull Temporus too far away from his portal, the boss fight will reset and you will need to start all over again. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Aeonus is a giant dragon who unlike the other bosses in the dungeon will appear beside Medivh. Aeonus will drain energy from Medivh with a purple stream. The stream is broken when you fight the boss.
There are no adds with this boss so you can just concentrate on the one target throughout the dungeon. During the fight, he will do an arcane explosion like what Mages are capable but you shouldn't have too worry too much about it. If you are damaged by it, heal up and continue the fight.
