Vortex Pinnacle is a dungeon in the World of Warcraft game. The level range for the normal dungeon is 82-85. The main anagonist race in this dungeon are Elemental. The instance was released in the Cataclysm expansion. The dungeon contains 3 bosses. The end boss of Vortex Pinnacle is Asaad.
Vortex Pinnacle dungeon location is off the southern coast of Uldum, just to the south east of Lost City of Tol'vir . When you enter, you will notice that the dungeon is split into three parts, at the end of each part is a boss. Once you have killed the boss, you jump into a cyclone and are transported to the next platform. If you happen to fall off, you are transported back to the start and will have to repeat it
It is one of the few dungeons that people repeatedly run even when it is no longer level appropriate because it drops a mount, the Drake of the North Wind. The other wind drakes are obtained by doing the Cataclysm raid meta achievement, doing Throne of the Four Winds and by gaining Tol Barad reputation. There is no achievement for getting all four compass point drakes, although there really should be given the other achievements people can get. The Drake of the North Wind drops from Altairus

This boss when he is engaged will create whirlpools that swirl round his body. Occasionally, Ertan will pull these whirlpools in and anyone hit by them will be pushed out of the area and have a slowing effect on them moving back in. When attacking, you should be as close to the boss as possible. There is no individual achievement for this boss on heroic.
This drake will create whirlwinds similar to the previous boss (Grand Vizier Ertan) except that these whirlwinds will spread out and not in a circle. If you are hit by a whirlwind you are thrown into the air with a slow fall back down. You may notice that if you stand on one side of the boss, you will get a speed buff, on the other side, you will get a slow buff. The side changes periodically so the group will need to move sides. There is a slight chance that the Drake of the North Wind will drop and everyone in the party will roll for it. If you are soloing at a high level, then its yours guaranteed.
This floating boss needs to be taken down as with all the others, quickly as possible. Every so often he will draw a triangle on the ground which you will need to run under because he will unleash a lot of AOE damage. Once the AOE damage is over, run back over to him and carry on hitting him
This achievement requires you to avoid being held on the ground by his static ability. To do this, it is best that you keep jumping around so that he can't keep on you on the ground with his ability
