Dalaran is a zone on the continent of Northrend in the World of Warcraft game. The zone has a city environmental feel to it. . Dalaran has quests for players leveled 1-80. The area is not controlled by either faction and has quests for both factions. There is one dungeon or raid located in this zone.
Dalaran is the fabled city of the Kirin Tor. The city used to be located in Alterac Mountains but the Kirin Tor lifted it off from its location and left a crater in its place. Before Wrath of the Lich King, the area was blocked off by a force field , however that has gone and you can venture down into the crater now. If you're unlucky, a Mage can also port you there.
Dalaran was moved to Northrend to aid both The Alliance and The Horde in their fight against the Lich King. There it stayed until the Burning Legion returned in the Legion expansion. In Legion, Dalaran was moved to the Broken Isles. Between the Lich King and the Legion, the Horde was booted out of Dalaran by Jaina Proudmoore, a powerful female mage. When the council voted to allow the Horde back into Dalaran, Jaina got angry and went awol. Jaina never appeared in Legion.
On the west side the floating island is the Alliance only section called the Silver Enclave. In the Enclave, you can find the portals to the Alliance cities, along with portals to the Priest and Paladin secret halls. It is a place of peace and tranquillity.
The Sunreavers Sanctuary is naturally on the other side of the island to the Silver Enclave. The Sanctuary is guarded by Blood Elves. If you try to enter the others areas, you will teleported out and stunned. Priest and Paladin portals for the Horde are located in this area too.
Class Halls were introduced in Legion expansion, they are places that are only available to certain classes. If you try to access a class hall that you're not part of it, you will not be able to access them. It is in this locations that you can send followers on missions and get class specific quests.
It doesn't matter which faction you get it on, the mount will look the same. If you gain a class mount on say Alliance and you have the same class on Horde, the Horde will be able to use that class mount immediately.
It will come as no surprise that the Death Knight's class hall is Ebon Hold, the same one it has always been since the Death Knight got created. You open an Ebon Hold anywhere and go through the portal. The Deathlord's monster is an green undead dragon.
The Demon Hunter zone is accessible by jumping or flying onto the rock that orbits off the side of Dalaran by Krasus Landing. You jump onto the rock then go through the portal to Mardum.
The Demon Hunters mount is a giant purple creature.
Druid Class Hall is not on Dalaran, it is in the Broken Isles. Druid Class Hall is located in the north western most part of Val'Sharah and can only be accessed by Druids. When you Dreamwalk, you enter an area with portals to other parts of Azeroth but only one to the Dreamgrove.
The class mount is a "skin" for your flight mode. Whereas previously, you would be an eagle of some sort, doing the mount quest line will turn your flight mode into a Owl, one which can carry people. All the other class mounts don't have that facility.
The Hunter Class Hall is nowhere near Dalaran, it is in the hills of Highmountain to the north. In Daralan, there's a large eagle in the flight area that will take you straight to the area easily, you need to talk to the Tauren to get there. Hunters have access to a secondary flight plan but one that can only be accessed through talking to an Eagle.
The Class Hall is an open area, like the Druid zone. The Class Mount is the Huntmaster's Loyal Wolfhawk. There are an additional two mounts that can be collected also. Dire Wolfhawk and Fierce Wolfhawk. The end quest area is to hunt an area which Odyn has set up for you. The final quest area matches that of one of the areas in the Halls of Valor dungeon.
When it is time to face the final challenge for the Wolfhawk, you will be summoned in your class zone by a Valkyri who will take you to Odin to face the final challenge. The final mount stage will see you hunt numerous creatures, all of which are easy.
The Mages class entrance requires you to teleport to the locaton rather than going through a portal which a Shaman would naturally do. The Mage class hall can be quite confusing to navigate but eventually be resolved. The port spell is Port to Hall of the Guardian.
The forge is quite well hidden, it has to be clicked on for it to appear in the middle of the room that it is in. Meryl Felstorm is the lead Mage, a forsaken male in this zone.
The mount specific to a Mage is the Archmage Prismatic Disc, one of the less exciting mounts you can get.
The Monk Class Hall is situated on the turtle island where the Pandarans start their campaign at level 1. To access the zone, you need to transcend body and mind and teleport to the island using the spell Zen Pilgrimage. To return back to Dalaran, you either use the portal on the island or use Zen Pilgramage again to return to nearly where you was before
Once on the island, access to the western side of the island is done by stepping on a transportation mandala in the Temple of the Five Dawns. The transportation manadala will take you to the second level where you can then cross into the western part of the island by a bridge.
The class mount is Ban-Lu, Grandmaster's Companion. Ban-Lu is similar to Battlecat from He-Man, the cartoon series, different colours but you'll get what I mean. Ban-Lu also talks. The final quest to get Ban-Lu occurs in Kun-Lai Summit where you virtually have to beat Ban-Lu into submission. Ban-Lu is a flying mount but flying is not possible on the class hall island.
The paladin class hall is at Lights Hope Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands on Eastern Kingdoms. Access from Dalaran is through a yellow portal located in either factions area in Dalaran. Access to the class hall can be accessed by flying to Lights Hope from anywhere on Eastern Kingdoms. In Light's Hope Chapel, there is a secret doorway down to where the hall is, visible only to Paladins.
The Priest's class hall is like the previous class's, the Paladins in that they are accessible from a portal within their faction's section of the city. Unlike other class halls such as the Mage, the beauty of this dungeon is that its clear and simple. The Class hall is a large T shape and easy to navigae.
The Priests mount is called a Seeker, it is like a horse with the head of a owl. The final area in which you encounter the Seeker is an underwater cavern and requires you to take out nefarious creatures. It is one of the simplier ones to do.
A Rogue's class hall is located in the Underbelly, accessible only via a secret door in Dalaran. You need to speak to the door man to be able to access the area. For instance, speak to the man at the counter at the Glorious Goods shop and he'll you in.
Rogues will come face to face with an old enemy whilst they level up. Vanessa van Cleef, the new leader of the Defias becomes a bodyguard and operative for the player.
The Rogue's class mount is Shadowblade's Murderous Omen, a giant raven which you sit on a saddle to fly. The quest to get the Omen will involve you travelling to the Horde cities (and maybe Alliance, I only have an alliance rogue) and killing people who are suspected of betraying the factions. The easiest is Thunder Bluff, you swoop in from above and kill the enemy then get out. The toughest is Undercity as you have to go a long way into the city and pass a lot of guards, its not easy.
Shaman's class hall is in the Maelstrom which can be accessed from a portal in Krasus' Landing, the area where you can fly from. The portal is blue and is guarded by two shaman.
Shaman's being the class the control the elements, its only natural that a mount would be an element. The Shaman's mount is a wind elemental and one of the better class mounts. You stand atop the mount as you move across the lands. You are able to purchase different colours for the Farseer mount such as a fiery yellow.
The Warrior Class Hall is up in the clouds, literally. The Class Hall is controlled and looked over by Odyn, a play on the old Norse god of Odin. The Warrior class hall can be accessed by locating a Val'kyr in any of the zones and then pressing a button to jump up. When you want to come back down, you speak to another Val'kyr and select which zone you want to go to.
The final quest for the Warrior mount is probably in UG's view, the hardest one as you need to face off against four warrior fighters at different times but they are hard. The hardest of the fights is the first one, if you can do that then all the others are easy. At the end of the fight, Odin will present you with the Wyrn and then you punch it for putting you through it all.
