Darkshore

Darkshore Zone in World of Warcraft, copyright Blizard Ent.

Darkshore is a zone on the continent of Kalimdor in the World of Warcraft game. The zone has a forest environmental feel to it. . Darkshore has quests for players leveled 9-25. The area is controlled by the Alliance and should be avoided by the Horde. There are no dungeons or raids located in this zone.

Darkshore is the second zone that Night Elves will traditionally quest in after having first done Teldrassil, the starting zone that contains the Night Elf capital, Darnassus.

Up until Cataclysm, the main Night Elf town in this zone was Auberdine, a play on the name of Aberdeen which it is said plays homage to the birth town of Kurt Cobain, the one time lead singer of Nirvana. The new main Night Elf settlement is Lor'Danel to the north of Auberdine.

There are no Horde encampments in the zone, the nearest is in Ashenvale to the south but if the war goes badly for The Alliance, no one can tell what The Horde might get up to.

In the introductory quests for Battle for Azeroth, questing took place in Ashenvale and then Darkshore, the dailies for items was in Darkshore for both Horde and Alliance. It was the only real time to come back to Darkshore for anything useful.
