Isle of Thunder

Isle of Thunder Zone in World of Warcraft, copyright Blizard Ent.

Isle of Thunder is a zone on the continent of Pandaria in the World of Warcraft game. The zone has a fortress environmental feel to it. . Isle of Thunder has quests for players leveled 90. The area is not controlled by either faction and has quests for both factions. There is one dungeon or raid located in this zone.

The Isle of Thunder was first introduced mid-way through the Mists of Pandaria expansion. The island is a swampland with a large building complex taking up the northern end of the island, this is where the Lei Shen, the Thunder King lives.

In addition to the Thunder King raid, there is also an open-world boss, Nalak, a storm serpent that rewards players with epic loot. The two locations are situated next to one another.

The Thunder King was an ancient Mogu (Tiger Humanoid) who ruled part of Pandaria but died. His body laid in peace for centuries until the Zandalari Trolls broke in and stole the body in order to awaken him. Now that Lei Shen has awoken, its time to venture inside the Throne and kill him.

The island has lots of elite characters that you can take out, they do not unfortunately reward you with any epic loot, only money or somethings useful. There is no flying on the island just like there's no flying on other additional islands or zones such as the zones on Argus.

Although the island is off the western side of the island, its not possible to fly there, you need to use the portal at the Shadow-Pan garrison. There is a portal for each factions so if the portal doesn't work, you need to find the other one. You are not able to fly or swim to the island, you will die of fatigue if you do. You will get to a spot where you will not be able to go any further.
