Shadowmoon Valley (Outlands) is a zone on the continent of Outlands in the World of Warcraft game. The zone has a wasteland environmental feel to it. . Shadowmoon Valley (Outlands) has quests for players leveled 67-70. The area is not controlled by either faction and has quests for both factions. There is one dungeon or raid located in this zone.
Shadowmoon Valley is a high level instance for the Burning Crusade expansion. It is located on the south eastern section of the zone. All the vegetation that once covered the zone has now all gone, its just rocks and Fel Lava.
In addition to the two main factions, Horde and the Alliance, there two other factions that both players can join the Aldor and the Scryor. The Aldor are populated by the Draenei and they have a base in Altar of Sha'tar. The Scryors are based at Sanctum of the Stars. Entering either camp without the necessary rep will result in death. Both the Horde and Alliance can use either base so long as they have the necessary rep for it.
The way to the zone is the same for both factions. You can either teleport via a faction teleport or a mage teleport to Shattrath City and then travel east. Another way is to travel via the Dark Portal into Hellfire Peninnsula and thn either run round or fly across the void if you have flight training. If you plan to fly across the void, it is safe to avoid fatigue as the distance is not that long across.
There are a group of dragons called the Netherwing that are situated on the south eastern area. They have their own rock which you can only get to if you're summoned by a warlock or can fly across. If you don't have flight capability, there is no point going there.
Netherwing Reputation is started by communicating with a dragon near Dragonmaw Fortress who will give you a starting quest. When you get to exalted faction, you are sent to Shattrath City where you are given a mountain as a reward.
