Kamino - Star Wars

Kamino from Star Wars.

Kamino is a water world where the inhabitants are expert cloners. It is located out beyond the outer rim, 12 parsecs beyond the Ricci Maze. Unlike when Han Solo uses Parsec to describe how fast the Millennium Falcon does the Kessel Run, they have used Parsec as in the right form as distance. A Parsec is equivalent to roughly 3.2 Light Years. A Light Year is how far Light travels in a year, which is about 31 trillion kilometers. The second nearest star to Earth is Proxima Centauri. which is roughly 1.3 Parsecs away. The inhabitant live in cities on stilts above the water. The inhabitants of the planet Kaminos were tasked by Jedi Master Sifo Dyas to create the Clone Army that will become the foot soldiers for the Emperor. Jango Fett, father of Boba Fett is the source of the original DNA for the soldiers.

The planets location was removed from the Galactic Senates computer databanks by someone unknown. It is speculated that the person who did that was Palpatine to hide the fact there is a clone army being built for the Republic on that planet. All Obi-Wan Kenobi had to go on was the interactions of planets and stars within that area of space which suggested something was there but no in the databanks.

After the Battle of the Moon of Endor, the production facilities were shut down as the Galactic Empire was now dead. This prompted the First Order to begin to use real uncloned people to be stormtroopers such as FN2187 who would later be renamed by Poe Dameron to be known as Finn.

Kepler 22

In a press release to mark Star Wars Day 2019, N.A.S.A. released a press statement stating that the exoplanet orbiting Kepler-22 is a good match for Kamino. The planet is believed to be water world with a radius of 2.4 times that of the Earth.
