Cordelia is a Moon that orbits round the planet Uranus. Its mass is estimated/calculated at being ~4.4 x10^16 kg. Its density has been calculated at being 1.33 g/cm3 (assumed). Its volume is ~38,900 km3.
Cordelia was discovered on 20 January 1986 by Richard J. Terille / Voyager 2. Its orbital period, i.e. the period it takes to complete an orbit round Uranus is 0.335 days. The figure is also known as the sidereel period. The figure comes from N.A.S.A..
The albedo of the object is 0.08. The Albedo is the amount of radiation that is reflected back into space by the object.
The mean temperature of the object is ~64 K.
The mass of the object is calculated at being ~4.4 x10^16 kg. The mean radius of Cordelia is 20.1 +/- 3km. The surface area of Cordelia is ~5500 km2. The surface gravity of the said item is ~0.0073 m/s2.
The orbital inclination, the angle at which Cordelia orbits in relation to the orbital plane is 0.08479 degrees. The orbital eccentricity is 0.00026, it is the degree at which Cordelia orbits close to a circular (0) orbit as opposed to an elliptical (1) orbit.
Cordelia is a moon that orbits Uranus. It was only discovered when Voyager 2 space probe flew by in 1986. Before the fly by, it was unknown and hadn't been seen before. As you can see from the image (Copyright N.A.S.A), the moon is nestled between the rings that encircle Uranus. Not much is known about the moon.
Unlike other planets in the solar system, Uranus's satellite moons are not named after ancient gods but after characters from predominantly Shakespearean plays. The first moons of Uranus were named before the formation of the International Astronomical Union was formed. The International Astronomical Union is the international organisation that overseas the naming of all things to do with space.
Cordelia is the daugther of King Lear in the play of the same name by William Shakespeare. Other Uranian moons include Puck and Ariel. In addition to Shakespeare, some moons are named after characters from "Rape of the Lock", a poem by Alexander Pope. When they refer to Rape, its not the criminal sense of the word that we associate it with nowadays but it means in the context of the play, to snatch, to grab, to carry off.
