Hi'iaka, Moon of Haumea

Hi'iaka is a Moon that orbits round Haumea, a Kuiper Belt Object at the edge of the Solar System.

Hi'iaka's Mythology Legend

Hi'iaka is the larger of the two Haumea moons. the moon is named after one of the daughters of Haumea, a Hawaiian goddess. The other moon is named after another daughter. Hi'aka is the patron saint of Hawai'i, hula dancers, chant, sorcery and medicine.
